More Than CaregivingOur Day Program DSPs do much more than provide traditional caregiving support. They coach, teach, mentor, and engage adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the day.You may lead activities involving art, music, games, cooking, reading, life skills, community outings, volunteering, and other enrichment opportunities. The goal is to help each person build skills, increase independence, participate in their community, and have meaningful experiences.You will also provide hands-on personal care, behavioral support, and assistance based on each individual's needs.What You'll DoCoach and mentor adults with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesLead activities, workshops, and life enrichment opportunitiesTeach daily living skills such as cooking, money management, communication, and community participationEncourage independence, choice, confidence, and active participationLead community outings and volunteering opportunitiesProvide personal care and hygiene assistanceSupport individuals who may experience challenging behaviorsUse positive behavioral support and redirection techniquesAssist with lifting and transfers when neededComplete accurate daily electronic documentationHelp with cooking, cleaning, and preparing program spacesWork closely with your team to maintain a positive, safe, and engaging environment
