Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Roseville, California and please reach out to Melissa (Painter) Ford for immediate consideration. This role is central to our operations, requiring the processing and management of financial transactions, auditing, and accurate record keeping. The successful candidate will also be involved in the reconciliation of invoices, preparation of reports, and management of the month-end close process. Responsibilities: Prepare and process revenue and cost of sales transactions adhering to company policies and procedures. Record daily statistical reports of starts, sales, and closings. Manage and reconcile invoices, ensuring proper approvals, verifying account coding, and checking mathematical accuracy of support. Maintain budgets in the JD Edwards system and prepare/review backlog and Gross Margin Percentage Report. Ensure the month-end close process is managed accurately and timely in line with corporate/region deadlines. Maintain and update spreadsheets for allocations, tracking, etc. Conduct various projects assigned by Corporate, Region, or Division Management.Requirements Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field of accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary for this role. Knowledge and experience with Job Cost is preferred for this position. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. The candidate should have a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work is essential. The candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in using other accounting software and systems is preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work is expected. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of tax laws and regulations is preferred. The candidate should have the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Experience with budget forecasting and financial audits is preferred.
