The Senior Accountant will be responsible for completing relatively complex accounting duties, including preparation of monthly journal entries, program financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analyses.

Essential Duties:

1. Prepare month end journal entries, including depreciation, payroll allocations, expense allocations, and accruals.

2. Work closely with accounts receivable and accounts payable staff in managing line-item cost reimbursement billings.

3. Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly program financial packets.

4. Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

5. Assist in providing financial materials in support of Grants, RFP requests and contract renewals.

6. Prepare annual cost reports and SR reports.

7. Assist in compiling data to facilitate timely completion of annual financial audit, 990 tax returns and 403b audit.

8. Prepare insurance policy renewal forms.

9. Assist in preparing annual operating budgets.

10. Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. College level accounting courses through Intermediate Accounting a minimum; degree strongly preferred.

2. Minimum three years’ experience preferably in Healthcare, in a position preparing financial reports, monthly and year end closing journal entries, account analyses and other financial analyses.

3. Knowledgeable of generally accepted accounting principles and federal cost allocation guidelines (Super Circular)

4. Highly analytical and resourceful self-starter with strong attention to detail, ability to handle large amounts of data and exhibit problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

5. Ability to work cohesively in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other departments.
