AECOM is seeking an Environmental Technician to be based in Sacramento, CA, that is motivated, resourceful, results-oriented, and decisive. This is a field position that requires working outside, in inclement weather at times, walking in rugged terrain and at times lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to the following:Report to the Field Services Team Leader and take direction from that individual, project managers, task leaders, and senior technical staff.Coordinate with task and project managers, and with on-site subcontractors and field staff, to support sampling, data collection, and field documentation.Perform soil, sediment, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling, and monitoring well gauging.Document efforts with detailed and legible field notes.Perform operations and maintenance (O&M) of environmental remediation systems.Operate field instrumentation and equipment.Oversee work and safety of contractors.Work independently and within large field teams.Maintain sample chain of custody and ship samples, as required.Collect and tabulate scientific data.Complete daily field reports and forms documenting sampling, monitoring, O&M, and construction management activities.
