Permanent, full-time job ( direct hire ) offering W2 annual salary with full benefits and relocation assistance Job location : on site in Salt Lake City, Utah ( no remote work for non local candidates - relocation required )Fire Protection Systems Engineer ( Fire Protection Engineer ) :
Conduct fire risk analysis and develop safety ( fire protection and emergency evacuation ) concepts for passenger trains ( passenger railcars / rail vehicles )
Create relevant system design specifications for other engineering teams based on local, state and, federal requirements and customer needs
Approve choice of materials, products and components in regard to fire protection
Define testing and commissioning procedures and documentation
Compile and maintain fire protection documentation for regulatory agencies and customers
Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline ( Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc)
Previous experience with fire protection systems in railway, defense, aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding / naval engineering, nuclear / powerplant construction, industrial construction, or similar industries
Experience with relevant industry standards like National Fire Protection Association’s NFPA 130 Standard for Fixed Guideway Transit and Passenger Rail Systems
