This individual must have specialized knowledge related to commercial and retail banking risks and will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and enhancements of BSA/AML tools and systems, including transactions monitoring, sanctions screening systems, and a fraud screening system.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust data governance strategy and framework for the FCC Program, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Define policies, standards, and procedures for data classification, data quality, data lineage, and data security withing FCC.

Execute BSA/AML and Sanctions data testing and governance projects, in accordance with department strategy.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, legal, risk management, and IT to integrate data analytics solutions into the organization’s FCC program.

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness and adherence to data governance policies and controls, identifying areas for improvement and mitigation of risks.

Provide guidance and support to compliance officers and analysts in utilizing data analytics techniques to enhance monitoring, surveillance, and investigation processes.

Stay updated on regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging threats related to financial crimes, and incorporate relevant insights into the organization’s data governance strategy.

Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance in discussions with senior management, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders.

Develop MIS reports for submission to senior management.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with FCC management team, internal audit, and compliance monitoring and testing, fostering open communication and ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.

Oversee and participate in the implementation of monitoring and screening technology platforms to support the Bank; experience with Verafin, Actimize, and/or Fircosoft is key;

Develop and implement program analytics to monitor financial crimes compliance program risks;

Maintains proficient knowledge of the rules and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC and evolving banking landscape.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

7+ years of experience in financial crimes compliance, particularly with data, platforms, data governance, and data management;

Bachelor’s degree in information management, computer science, finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, JD, or Master’s in Information Management) preferred;

Experience with some or all of the following technologies to build analysis and drive insights from data

Database: Oracle (PL/SQL), Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL)

Analytics tools: R, Python

Reporting tools: PowerBI, Excel

Azure

Knowledge of vendor BSA/AML/OFAC transaction monitoring and sanctions screening systems (e.g., Verafin, Actimize, Fircosoft)

Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office suite;

Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, standards, and methodologies required;

In-depth knowledge and experience with the US PATRIOT Act, BSA Act and the FFIEC AML manual;

Ability to excel in a remote, innovative, and fast-paced environment;

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal teams, regulators and external stakeholder;

Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner to senior leaders.
