We all share a "Let's find the solution!" team attitude to ensure continued growth and prosperity.DEFINITION: Under the supervision of the CSF and/or Service Coordinator and/or Program Supervisor, the House Manager/ Staff Lead provides direct support services to people with developmental disabilities in their homes and, when directed by a CSF or Service Coordinator or Program Supervisor, assume responsibility for operations of organization and assure agreed upon delivery of support services.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: H.S. Diploma or equivalent required Experience: At least 2 years of demonstrated experience working with people with similar needs as those served (i.e. behaviorally challenged, medically involved, elderly or psychiatric diagnosis population) in a community based residential setting. Certifications: Must have current CPR/First Aid Certification Requirements: Negative TB Clearance [prior to 1st Day of Valid Driver?s License, Registration, and Car Insurance Work with Clients] CPR/First Aid CertificationJob Description:The House Manager (Staff Lead) must demonstrate leadership skills and have experience working with people with similar needs as those served (i.e. behaviorally challenged, medically involved, elderly or psychiatric diagnosis population) in a community based residential setting. The House Manager (Staff Lead) provides oversight to the staff assigned to work with the individual(s) to coordinate personal care, training, and support to meet their goals.Interaction/Organizational/Social Skills:

Must be able to relate positively to individuals, their families/conservators, neighbors, Regional Center representatives and other community members

Must be mature and emotionally stable

Must possess the belief and attitude that all people with developmental disabilities can be served in their communities

Must be capable of using language that portrays people with developmental disabilities in a way other than the typical medical model

Must possess the belief that a developmental disability is not an illness

Must be emotionally capable of examining one?s self and one?s own issues with power and control when supporting and acting in the service of other people.

Must be able to exercise good judgment and initiative in working for people

Must be punctual and have a good attendance record

Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to supervisors and other team members

Must be able to effectively organize a variety of work tasks for self and complete these in priority order

Must wear clothing that is appropriate to the occasion and that is not excessively revealing as determined by a board of the employee?s peers and customers

Must have own transportation, valid California driver?s license and insurable driving record and satisfy the minimum State requirement regarding auto insurance.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Assure that the individuals served are provided with assistance in all aspects of their daily living and that they receive supports in all areas needed to live a full active life of their choice. In conjunction with the individual, assure implementation and follow through on all aspects of the IPP (Individual Program Plan) and ISP (Individual Support Plan) for people served.

Maintain the house Binders for the Individuals (Emergency, Daily Tracking and Financial Binders).

Provide advice, guidance and support to individuals regarding personal issues and life choices

Act as an advocate for people served.

Act as liaison/consultant to individual?s team.

Attend Individual Program Plan (annual) and Quarterly meetings.

Attend Circle of Support team meetings.

Assure all data collection and daily documentation is completed.

Assure that individuals served have access to nutritional food that they enjoy.

Assure that all symptoms of illness reported by individuals are promptly reported to the physician of their choice.

Assure that family members who desire communication receive weekly or more frequent phone calls if the individual agrees or they are the conservator.

Assure that all people served have clean clothing, sanitary and sufficient hygiene supplies and availability of laundry facilities.

Assure that persons served have access to transportation when they need it to go into their communities.

Accompany people as necessary to the activities of their choice daily.

Assist people to budget and manage their finances as indicated.

Assure that the human and civil rights of persons served are being respected at all times.

Assist individuals to maintain the exterior of their home and lawn in accordance with the standards maintained at other residences in the area

Assist individuals to maintain the interior of their home through accessing landlords, repair service or other services as needed, reporting all problems and solutions to the Service Coordinator

Provide whatever level of support is needed to maintain a clean home up to and including cleaning the home if the individual is unable or refuses to clean their home.

Communicate with day program services as necessary in a polite friendly manner.

Assist people to prepare or directly prepare meals and snacks as desired by the individual on a time schedule determined by the individual.

Purchase items as directed using budgetary guidelines set forth.

Document progress towards ISP/IPP goals, behaviors, medical conditions and any other pertinent information that needs to be shared between the Circle of Support.

Responsible to obtain required training and to assure that training is kept current to assure continued employment.

Attend training and conferences as requested to assure that Live Scan/DOJ, A Bright Future Inc. acts as leader in the field.

Attend all Regional Center audits as requested to assure that auditorsunderstand implementation of programs.

Adhere to Injury & Illness Prevention Program.

Assume responsibility for all other duties as assigned by Service Coordinator.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to effectively implement First Aid/CPR

Must have the ability to work on multiple assignments at one time.

Must have the ability to push people using wheelchairs and assist peopleexperiencing seizures and assist people with transferring to/from wheelchairs

Must be capable of pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
