This position will be based at our Sacramento area branch located in California.During your summer journey with us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Engineering Department where you will learn how our department is responsible for the engineering of modifications, modernizations and upgrades for all types of rail vehicles. We frequently work in small teams to solve problems, explore new technologies, and learn from one another. We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.What your day-to-day will look like:

Learn about and execute our standard processes

Create or modify work instructions related to the overhaul of rail vehicles

Assist in rail vehicle modification for mechanical designs

Support in disassembly, repair, and reassembly of trains

Assist with facility layouts and workflow improvements

Critical Capabilities :

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university

Legal authorization to work in the US is required

Must reside or go to school near internship location

Who Should Apply?· Education / Majors: Current sophomore or junior undergraduates pursuing a BA/BS from an accredited college or university and majoring in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering with strong technical or analytical aptitude· Availability: 40 hours per week from June to August· Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization· Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred) with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0· Demonstrated leadership potential· Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills· Industry knowledge and/or interestYou’ll benefit from:The hourly pay range for this position is $22 - $26 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year.
