Part time Weekend Caregiver position
This is a position where you are working with an adult with Autism and developmental disabilities. It is not the same as companionship care for the elderly.
We are looking to add another caregiver to the team to work with RP on
Saturday and Sunday from 10am-10pm. $20/ hr
The schedule, times and hourly rate are firm.
RP is a very light hearted and fun loving 29 year old man with Autism. He is very young maturity wise and needs help with most things. He does have some developmental delays. He does not always understand safety, cause and effect. etc So he needs assistance throughout the day with most things to varying degrees as well as someone to make sure he stays safe. He does use the restroom on his own and is completely ambulatory. He has 24/7 staff care. Most of his staff have worked with him for many years and are very invested in his life and progress. His weekend caregiver moved so we are looking to replace her.
A little about RP… He loves everything Disney. He is very electronically savvy and loves to watch videos on YouTube and various other apps. He is a bit of a recluse and needs some prompting to get out of the house for outings. He loves carbs! Pasta, cheese, chips, pizza– he loves it! The Old Spaghetti Factory is his absolute favorite place to eat! Christmas is his absolute favorite holiday and he loves to decorate like crazy for it! He is very boisterous and funny. He has a very big heart and is very sweet and loving. He can be emotional and deals with anxiety. We have a Behavior Plan and tools to help him cope with that.
We have a very close team who all love RP very much. We are looking for someone to add to the team who is kind hearted, outgoing, honest, hard working and enjoys life.
Some Duties:
Administer and follow medication schedule
Document all medications given; prescribed, over the counter meds and supplements
Keep up to date notes in med/mood/ food and water log
Light housekeeping pertaining to RP. dishes, make sure bathrooms are sanitary, keep common areas sanitary, kitchen is cleaned up. etc.
Meal Prep. He will help you, but he will need assistance.
Occasional Light Laundry (anything pertaining to RP)
Provide behavioral and emotional support.
Promote/ teach independent living skills when applicable for RP

This position requires the following:
-Legally allowed to work in the USA
-Current Driver’s license, reliable vehicle and insurance. Must have a CLEAN driving record
-Must be able to pass a DOJ background check
-Must speak fluent English
-This is a drug free work environment
-This is a part-time position hired through STRC Industries, a nonprofit agency. You will be required to clock in and out everyday and submit a timecard twice monthly for payment.
-This is a W2 position
