Our team is comprised of passionate professionals who are committed to delivering compassionate care and improving the lives of pets and their families.Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our dynamic Medical Oncology department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary medicine, with specific experience and interest in oncology. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside board-certified oncologists and a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients battling cancer.Responsibilities:

Assist veterinary oncologists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of oncology cases.

Provide compassionate nursing care and support to oncology patients throughout their treatment journey.

Perform various technical procedures, including chemotherapy administration, blood draws, catheter placement, and imaging studies.

Monitor patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and promptly report any adverse reactions or changes in condition.

Educate pet owners on treatment options, prognosis, and supportive care measures.

Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities.

Collaborate effectively with other members of the veterinary team to ensure seamless patient care and client communication.

Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to stay current on advancements in veterinary oncology.

Qualifications:

Certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the state of California.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a veterinary technician, preferably in a specialty or referral hospital setting.

Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, pharmacology, and nursing procedures.

Experience in oncology is highly desirable, but training will be provided for the right candidate.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with pet owners, colleagues, and referring veterinarians.

Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings, as needed.
