Job Posting: Security SpecialistState Teachers' Retirement SystemJC-363048-Security SpecialistINFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST I$5,960.00 - $9,643.00 per MonthFinal Filing Date: 4/9/2023Job Description and DutiesThe CalSTRSInformation Security Office Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Information Technology Specialist I.Under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer, the incumbent is responsible for performing security monitoring and threat management requiring regular innovative problem-solving within broadly stated and non-specific guidelines, which includes: detailed security assessment; anomaly detection; incident response; and risk mitigation. This position is in the Information Security Engineering and System Engineering domains.The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff and management

Ability and desire to show initiative with completing tasks

Ability to communicate information regarding IT policy, technology, and issues effectively at all levels

Exhibits professional demeanor, and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative relations

Ability to analyze data and draw sound conclusions

Knowledge and experience in planning, development, testing, installation, maintenance, and support of critical applications and solutions

Willingness to work in a team environment

Ability to analyze problems, develop alternatives, and recommend appropriate course of action
