This infrastructure includes client technology; network, servers, and storage infrastructure; and technology disaster recovery. The IT Infrastructure and Operations Division also provides technology related operational support for CalSTRS. The IT Infrastructure and Operations Division is comprised of the following team: Client Technology Infrastructure, Client Technology Services, Technology Disaster Recovery, Network Infrastructure, and the Service Desk.The Disaster Recovery Unit works with Technology Services and business teams to ensure disaster recovery (DR) readiness by advance planning and coordinating frequent DR testing exercises.The Technology Services Branch is committed to providing quality and timely technical support and services to the organization. Technology Services provides resources to successfully meet the technical demands of the organization.Under the direction of the Manager of IT Infrastructure, Information Technology Manager l, the Information Technology Specialist operates as the Technological Recovery Specialist who performs a wide variety of tasks requiring regular innovative problem-solving within broadly stated and non-specific guidelines for the Disaster Recovery team. The incumbent functions as a high-level technical specialist on critical DR and ITSM activities to support and ensure Technology Services (TS) continues to deliver high quality Information Technology (IT) services that meet the evolving business needs.The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: Experience with developing technology recovery plans that meet State regulatory requirements Knowledge and experience of IT system recovery best practices and recovery processes Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure and application architecture Experience developing and presenting Disaster Recovery or IT operational reports to all levels of technical staff and management Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Four years of general information technology experience or any equivalent combination of experience and educationPlease note that this is a limited-term position with the possibility of being extended up to 24 months or becoming permanent.Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.Telework Information: We offer a hybrid approach including in-office and remote work solutions with staff working on-site at our Headquarters in West Sacramento 2 days per week.Does this opportunity seem right for you?
