Black Bear Diner is looking for an Assistant Manager (Sacramento-Natomas)

Black Bear Diner in Sacramento-Natomas is looking for the right person to join our successful restaurant team as an Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager position will report directly to the General Manager and will have full shift responsibilities to effectively manage the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager while ensuring proper leadership coverage. The right person will need to assist in the operational aspects of the FOH and BOH.

Successful applicants would be teachable, outgoing, professional and at ease in front of our guests.

The right candidate will enjoy both personal and professional growth with a stable company, a positive work environment, and will be required to exhibit responsibility, maturity, and attention to detail. The Assistant Manager will collaborate with the General Manager on the following:

Continuing to aid in the growth of our business

Managing the floor during your assigned shifts

Aiding in scheduling of staff

Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees

Addressing complaints and resolving problems

Understanding of specific line item costs

Ordering / Inventory

Maintaining a high level of cleanliness

Being able to recognize necessary repairs needed

This position requires the applicant to have a teachable spirit AND:

Management or supervisory experience (FOH or BOH)

Stable and progressive work history- looking for someone growing within their restaurant management career

Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs and some internet experience

Experience in service standards and training staff

Excellent communication skills
