Polanco Cantina is a small business in Sacramento, CA. Polanco’s menu features Mexican-inspired familiar favorites prepared with local seasonal ingredients. Polanco Cantina is a vibrant, contemporary downtown Sacramento Mexican restaurant & bar serving lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and weekday happy hour. Polanco features Mexican-inspired familiar favorites and celebrates the rich bounty of California. Located in Downtown Commons (DOCO) and overlooking the Golden 1 Center, Polanco is the place for Mexican fare and festivities.

Polanco Cantina is looking for an experienced Sous Chef and empathetic coworker, are obsessed with cleanliness and organization, are a passionate food service professional, are reliable and punctual, lead by example, communicate effectively.

Duties:

Prepare and cook food; seasonally driven Mexican inspired cuisine

Assist chef, manager, and/or kitchen lead when and where needed

Diligence with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards

Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques

Qualifications:

Exhibits professionalism in fast-paced, complex situations.

Reliable, timely, clean, and alert. Holds a current Food Handlers card demonstrating a basic knowledge of food-safety practices.

Ability to stand, lift up to 35lbs, and move packages consistently for 2.5 hours at a time between breaks in a refrigerated environment.

Advanced culinary skills.

Available to work a flexible shift throughout the year, often including weekend brunch, and evenings

Provide two references that can confirm your work history.

Required Skills and Experience:

2+ years of experience on the line and/or BOH support

Proficient knife skills and knowledge of BOH best practices

Ability to align to organizational culture and goals of providing stellar customer experiences

Ability to work as a team
