We're seeking a caregiver to our wonderful 74 year old dad.
It would require THREE, (24 Hour) shifts per week.
A few years ago, our healthy, active and athletic dad was in a motor vehicle accident that has left him in a quadriplegic condition.
Although he is technically considered quadriplegic, he is able to feed himself, easily maneuver around in his power wheelchair, and enjoys, texting, chatting and face-timing with friends and family!
Other than keeping a close eye on his "general well being and any signs of ill health", a great deal of the "day portion" of the shift, would be relatively relaxed! It would likely include, preparing a few "easy-prep" meals, doing some light clean-ups, maybe a load of laundry and ideally enjoying some good conversations! Otherwise, you'll actually have a fair amount of time to yourself
Dad usually spends his day, watching TV, chatting on the phone or visiting with his array of great friends!
The morning would begin with a morning "TOILET ROUTINE", which includes transporting him via a powered Hoyer Lift to his "state of the art", Bathing/Toilet chair. He'll need help with personal care, dressing and prepping for the day!
At the end of the day, he'll again be transported to the Bathing/Toilet chair for the pre-bed routine.
Experience with the Hoyer Lift is not necessary as the relatively simple instructions on the use of the lift will be provided as well as FULL INSTRUCTIONS ON THE ENTIRETY OF HIS CARE ROUTINE.
A SEPARATE SLEEPING area is provided with a sliding glass door, leading to a quiet relaxing deck area, where you'll find an outdoor dining spot and hot tub.
Our dad is a great guy that despite this devastating loss, has made a valiant effort to remain upbeat! He loves good conversation, has a great sense of humor, and very social! Most fortunate of all, he has maintained a wonderful circle of amazing and invaluable friends, for which he is grateful beyond measure!
The home is located in beautiful Lake of the Pines. Dad loves it here and so we're desperately doing whatever we can to keep him in his home and close to his beloved friends.
Compensation: $2275.00 per month. Plus an ample allotment for your own essential grocery provisions.
NOTE: In the event that the applicant is in need of a full-time room rental/access, accommodations for that are possible and we'd be open to discuss.
