We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to support our workforce and help drive the company’s continued growth. While the role will be primarily HR related, due to our size, we would need someone who can also blur the lines of the job by morphing other roles such as implementation of our safety program, assist project managers with allocation of manpower, time card review, evaluate and advise on benefits packages, insurance quotes and options, and assist with maintenance and updating of company forms and documents as well as advise on labor rates for estimates on an ongoing basis.
Position Overview:
The primary role of HR Manager will oversee all human resource functions, supporting field and office staff alike. From recruiting electrical talent to ensuring compliance with labor laws, safety programs and building a positive work culture, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the employee experience across our projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the recruitment and hiring process for electricians, apprentices, project managers, and office staff.
Coordinate onboarding and training for new hires with a focus on safety and compliance.
Manage HR policies, benefits, and employee records.
Ensure compliance with employment laws, including health and safety regulations.
Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on HR matters including performance, development, and disciplinary actions.
Champion employee engagement and retention initiatives tailored to trades and field teams.
Oversee workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work processes.
Support apprenticeship programs and ongoing certifications/licensing.
Qualifications:
3–5+ years of HR management experience, ideally in construction, trades, or a similar field environment.
Solid understanding of employment law, safety compliance, and workforce management.
Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
Some general operations manager experience is a plus
Knowledge of prevailing wage project documentation is a plus.
