Position Overview:
The Reconstruction Project Manager oversees all aspects of post-mitigation reconstruction projects, including insurance restoration (water, fire, mold, and storm damage), residential remodeling, and light commercial rebuilds. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably — while delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction.
The Project Manager coordinates communication among clients, insurance adjusters, estimators, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution from estimate approval to final walk-through.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Coordination
Oversee multiple reconstruction projects simultaneously, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget.
Review estimates and scopes of work (including Xactimate or similar formats).
Obtain required permits, schedule inspections, and ensure compliance with all local building codes and safety standards.
Manage subcontractors, field crews, and suppliers to ensure timely project completion.
Conduct regular/daily site visits to verify quality, safety, and progress.
Client & Insurance Relations
Act as the main point of contact for homeowners, property managers, and insurance representatives.
Communicate clearly with clients throughout the project lifecycle regarding schedules, changes, and progress updates.
Negotiate and review insurance scopes and supplements as needed with estimator.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Develop and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
Review and approve subcontractor bids, change orders, and vendor invoices.
Track job costs and ensure profitability goals are met.
Identify opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed project files, photos, job logs, and communication records.
Prepare weekly progress reports and status updates for management.
Ensure accurate documentation for insurance billing and compliance.
Team Leadership
Supervise field staff, carpenters, and subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Train and mentor assistant project managers and coordinators as needed.
Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years of project management experience in insurance restoration, fire/water/mold damage reconstruction, or residential remodeling.
Experience working with insurance claims, Xactimate, and scoped estimates a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and codes.
Proficiency with project management software
Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
Physical & Work Environment:
Regular site visits in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and climb ladders when inspecting damage.
Participating in after-hours rotations
