Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Barricade Laborer to join our team. This role involves setting up and taking down safety barricades before and after paving and concrete renovation projects to ensure a safe work environment for our crews and the public. The ideal candidate will have a clean Class C driver's license, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Flexibility in work hours is essential as the job may require early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely load, transport, and set up barricades, cones, and other safety equipment at job sites.
Take down and store barricades after the completion of construction projects.
Ensure that all barricades and safety measures are in place according to project specifications and safety standards.
Collaborate with paving and concrete crews to adjust barricades as needed during the course of the project.
Inspect barricades regularly to ensure they are in good condition and replace or repair damaged items as needed.
Communicate with supervisors and other team members to ensure efficient and safe job site operations.
Qualifications:
Valid and clean Class C driver's license.
Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as needed.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in construction or traffic control is a plus.
Familiarity with safety standards related to construction site traffic control and barricade placement.
