Schedule: 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. (Full-time, Monday - Friday)
We are a busy local trade printing company, located in West Sacramento seeking a Digital Press Operator (experience preferred) to run high-volume digital presses and keep production flowing with quality, color accuracy, and efficiency. You’ll handle file prep at the RIP, calibrations, press setup, live adjustments, and routine maintenance to keep output sharp and schedules on track. (Typical duties include file/RIP prep, color calibration, press setup/operation, and QC of finished work.)
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate digital presses (e.g., HP Indigo, Xerox iGen or similar): load media/inks, verify specs, run test prints, and adjust for color, registration, and density during live runs.
- Preflight/queue jobs at the RIP; manage profiles, substrates, and impositions to meet press and job requirements.
- Perform routine cleaning, calibrations, and preventive maintenance; identify and resolve image-quality issues (banding, nozzle/quality marks, artifacts).
- Inspect output against proofs and specs; record production data, variances, and waste; keep the press area clean and safe.
- Collaborate with prepress, finishing, and fulfillment to hit deadlines and ensure smooth handoffs.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience running digital presses in a commercial environment (HP Indigo / Xerox iGen or comparable).
- Solid grasp of color management/ICC, substrate behavior, registration, and print-ready file requirements.
- Comfortable with RIP/prepress tools and basic troubleshooting under deadline.
- Strong attention to detail, consistent follow-through, and clear communication with cross-functional teams.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
-Previous printing industry experience will aid with qualifying applicants
Why This Role Might Be Right for You:
You love turning dial-in work into flawless output. You notice small color shifts, fix issues before they snowball, and keep a calm, methodical pace when the queue is full. If you take pride in precision and want to own results on press, you’ll feel right at home here.
How to Apply:
Please reply with your resume, a short summary of your printing and/or digital printing experience, and contact information. Qualified applicants will be contacted via phone call for any questions. Thank you.
