We are a busy local trade printing company, located in West Sacramento seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pressman to operate and maintain our Heidelberg 28" press. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a deep understanding of press operations, and the ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining quality, accuracy, and production efficiency across all print runs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate the Heidelberg 28" press, including setup, makeready, and production.
- Monitor press performance and make necessary adjustments for color accuracy, registration, and ink density.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure the press runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure prints meet customer and company standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve printing issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth production flow and meet deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, and press performance.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience operating a Heidelberg 28" press or similar offset press (required).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training in printing preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and occasionally work at heights (up to 10 feet).
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Heidelberg presses or similar models.
- Knowledge of offset, flexographic, or digital printing processes.
- Understanding of quality control procedures and print standards.
