Fire Alarm and Low Voltage Installer/Repair Technician

Universal Security & Fire Inc. has been providing security system (fire alarm, CCTV, access control, burg) installation and services for commercial and governmental entities since 1999. We are located in north-west Sacramento area close to I80 and servicing the greater Central California region
We are seeking a skilled technician with experience the following areas:
- Fire Alarm installation and troubleshooting (Primary) – Programming experience a plus (Silent Knight, Fire lite, Bosch, etc.)
- Access Control, burg and CCTV Systems (Nice to have)
Key Tasks:
Installation (prewire, termination, and/or programming, final inspections), and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems.
Individual contributor or as part of a team for new installation projects or supporting our service organization responding to customer repair requests.
Requirement for one weekend a month after-hours on-call service.
Maintain good communication with management, team member and customer to address needs, issues and resolution.
Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
Complete necessary system or manufacturer certification courses on as needed basis.
Complete and submit all required task-related documentation on time.

Required Skills/Experience
3+ years experience in low voltage electrical systems specifically Fire/Life Safety Systems – Secondary and nice to have: Access Control, CCTV, and Security/burglar-alarm Systems.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Physically capable to carry and move equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
Able to work in challenging positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or when overnight travel is required.
Demonstrated orientation towards customer service.
Ability to lead & work well with team members. Willing to learn and teach new skills in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to adhere to, implement, follow safety guidelines and best practices.
Positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that comply with insurance requirements.
Pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
