Accounting/Bookkeeper

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper that can bring some of his/her knowledge to our company to help manage our growth and develop into a fine tuned machine. SPE has been in business since 2009 and has grown every year since. Except for 2 years of Covid. We are back on the 100 Fastest growing companies in San Diego for the 4th time. There is growth opportunity in the position if that is what you are looking for. If you have any experience in the sign industry that would be great but definitiely not necessary. Bonuses based on job performance.

Job description

-Invoice projects

-Manage and pay vendor invoices. Insure PO's are used for each vendor

-Payroll

-Chicago Payroll for Union Workers. Training available

-Pay quarterly taxes.

- Maintain and balance general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.

- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

- Maintain historical records by filing documents.

- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.

- Reconcile bank statements & credit cards by comparing statements with the general ledger.

- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.

-Help manage office supplies and or services needed in the office.

EXPERIENCE

- Proven bookkeeping experience.

- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.

- Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes.

- Familiarity with debits and credits, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation.

- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks online) and 10-key typing skills.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding financial information.

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

- Experience with journal entries and maintaining accurate records.

Expected hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
