Position Summary:
This position reports directly to the company owner and president, and is a key member of the company’s operations team. The Controller oversees all company financials as well as general office management.
Duties:
In-depth knowledge of financial statement preparation including analysis
Strong procedural knowledge of monthly closing processes
Budgeting
A/P, A/R (understanding of large retail chain portals)
Cash management and forecasting
Balance sheet account reconciliations
Inventory management
Responsible for managing accounting staff
Responsible for managing company matters on a daily basis
Support the CEO in setting strategy, day-to-day decision support and setting and achieving company goals.
Provide partnership to each business lead in developing and executing plans to grow revenue and profit in each channel of business
Analyze business to find margin and profit opportunities and enact processes to improve these
Develop processes, vendor relationships and operations infrastructure to efficiently and effectively manage the company’s current operations as well as plan for future growth
Hire, train, supervise and develop employees to create high performing teams that contribute to a culture of team-work and commitment to success
Qualifications:
5+ years of financial / accounting experience
Strong management experience
Strong communication skills, both written and verbally
Self-starter
Advanced Excel and Word knowledge
Quickbooks proficient
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA a plus
Prior office management / operations experience
Prior retail chain portal experience
