Controller / COO

Seeking a Controller/COO to be directly responsible for financial planning, accounting, operations, facilities and human recourses while managing operations for multiple teams including product development, production, graphics, IT, sales and customer care. Small company atmosphere, under 20 employees. The position will work closely with the CEO to direct strategy, deliver results, guide culture, manage teams, and manage operations. The position will report directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

Bring experience and strong point of view as a key member of the senior leadership team.

Support the CEO in setting strategy, day-to-day decision support and setting and achieving company goals.

Provide partnership to each business lead in developing and executing plans to grow revenue and profit in each channel of business

Analyze business to find margin and profit opportunities and enact processes to improve these

Provide strong leadership and high-level coordination of processes to ensure optimal calendar, business process and timely execution Streamline communications and coordination across departments and improve transparency of financial results and decision-making throughout the organization

Own the financial budgeting, forecasting and closing processes including financial systems, audits, cash flow and banking relationships.

Enhance current reporting and forecasting processes to ensure appropriate regular transparency and reporting to all partners and good understanding of ROI and investment decision-making throughout the company

Ensure all regulatory reporting requirements are met and execution of adequate internal controls

Provide hands-on guidance and management of the company’s day-to-day operations including inventory forecasting and purchasing, logistics and distribution, manufacturing capacity and production plans

Provide goal setting and decision support analysis to promote improvement of all aspects of operations including reduction of costs, increased inventory turns and reduced lead times Identify and resolve day-to-day operational problems and challenges proactively

Develop processes, vendor relationships and operations infrastructure to efficiently and effectively manage the company’s current operations as well as plan for future growth

Hire, train, supervise and develop employees to create high performing teams that contribute to a culture of team-work and commitment to success

Key Qualifications:

5+ years of senior financial and/or operational experience in consumer/product driven business

BS in Business Management or related field. MBA and/or CPA a bonus.

Advanced Excel and Word knowledge

Quickbooks proficient

Demonstrated management experience across multiple departments and disciplines

Proven strategic thinker and problem solver when it comes to competitive strategy, business models and resource allocation

A “player-coach” who can both manage teams and get into the weeds when necessary

Displays strong analytical skills and a data driven mindset

Driven by a performance management mindset and creates a sense of urgency and accountability in oneself and others

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a culture and team builder

Prior experience with retailer portals
