Junior Staff Accountant

Position: Junior Staff Accountant

A Junior Staff Accountant is an integral part of our accounting team that involves providing financial and administrative support to the organization. Involved in accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting functions to support Accounting and Operations.

Essential Abilities:

Accounts Payable

Process & prepare payment of vendor invoices for multiple companies

Entry of and process vendor invoices

Entry of bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies

Credit card reconciliation

Process employee expense reports

Communicate and coordinate with vendors

Processing and completing credit applications

Accounts Receivable

Process invoices for company

Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing credit memos, payments, or adjustments

Prepare deposits for multiple entities - ensure accurate cash receipts by doing daily cash reconciliation

Review AR aging and calling to obtain status updates on payments for multiple entities

Prepare monthly debt reports for review by Controller

General accounting

Prepare sales taxes for multiple entities

Prepare journal entries for inter-company transactions

Review and reconcile accounts for month end close

Review and prepare financial statement packet for Controller review

Prepare, enter and post monthly journal entries

Perform month end analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts

Reconcile/balance inter-company G/L accounts

Reconcile bank statements

Assist Controller at month-end

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance

Minimum 1 years related accounting and finance experience

1-3 years’ experience in a corporate environment

Ability to communicate effective verbal, listening and written communication skills

Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements

Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential

Eye for detail, accuracy is imperative

Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

Able to meet deadlines

Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative

Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Experience with SAGE 300 a plus
