Seeking Highly Responsible Very Fit Personal Assistant for my happy and active 24yr. old son with severe autism. He is minimally verbal. This is a demanding but fulfilling position. Minimum 6 month commitment needed.
The hours are Weekday afternoons 2 to 9pm - and/or - Weekend afternoons 2 to 9pm or Weekend mornings 8am to 2pm.
Responsibilities include protective supervision accompanying and participating with client at various community recreation activities and assistance with daily living skills.
Early Shift: Is an In-Home Day Program. Duties include meal prep, medication administration, bathroom assistance, light housekeeping, laundry, educational activities.
Late Afternoon Shift: Duties include meal prep, medication administration, bathroom assistance, bathing, shaving, toothbrushing, dressing, light housekeeping, educational activities and . Must transport client in their car to YMCAs, Bowling Alley, Hiking Trails, Music Therapy, Gymnastics Session.
High level of focus and attention to detail is required. Playful but firm nature is needed. Candidate requirements include a B.A. degree and experience working with developmentally disabled individuals. ABA skills are a plus but training will continually be provided and required in order to maintain client's happiness, cooperation and safety. Candidate must follow specific instructions and ABA protocol on a daily basis.
