Fire Protection Design Engineer (Fire Sprinkler Systems)
(Remote / Local Site Access)
About the Role:
We are looking for a Fire Protection Design Engineer specializing in automatic Fire sprinkler systems.
The candidate will prepare design drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material lists for various building projects. Work is mostly remote, but candidates should be local enough to visit project sites when required for surveys or coordination.
Responsibilities:
Design and layout of automatic sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, or deluge)
Prepare AutoCAD / Revit drawings and coordination layouts
Perform hydraulic calculations using tools such as HASS, PipeNet, or SprinkCAD
Select components and prepare bill of materials (BOM)
Ensure compliance with NFPA 13, BS EN 12845, or local fire protection codes
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams
Participate in site visits for surveys or design validation
Provide as-built updates and support during installation if needed
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical / Fire Protection / Building Services Engineering
2–5+ years of experience in sprinkler system design
Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit is a plus)
Knowledge of NFPA 13 and/or BS EN 12845
Strong understanding of hydraulic principles and calculations
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Nice to Have:
Experience with BIM coordination
Knowledge of other fire protection systems (foam, deluge, etc.)
Familiarity with local authority submission processes
