Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Open and close the deli, ensuring operational readiness
Manage and maintain deli cleanliness standards
Greet customers as the first point of contact
Exemplify excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction
Perform tasks to maintain smooth deli operations
Assist customers with product-related information and decisions
Update displays with management approval
Stock, rotate, code, and price products while adhering to health and safety standards
Operate deli equipment safely, including meat and cheese slicers and cutting tools
Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces according to safety guidelines
Prepare special orders and party trays
Perform clerical tasks such as inventory management and answering phone calls
Process store orders and payments using a cash register and POS system
Follow written and verbal instructions from management
Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to handle physical demands, including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Strong collaboration skills with team members and other departments
Effective communication with a courteous approach to customer requests and complaints
Competency in math and basic financial transactions
A genuine interest in working in the market-deli and engaging with customers
Education and Experience Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years of deli experience preferred, or a combination of relevant education and experience
Ability to understand and follow all food handling and sanitation regulations
