CALI’s purpose is to operate exclusively for the benefit of adult persons with intellectual disabilities, brain-impairment, and those with disabilities by providing Supported Living Services to individuals in the community.
CALI's Supported Living Services encompass various tasks and skills across Activities of Daily Living, Health & Wellness, and Community Integration.
All of our services aim to expand our clients' capacity for communication, learning, self-direction, independent living, economic self-sufficiency, self-care, and mobility.

As a Caregiver/ Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will be the foundation of support for individuals living with Intellectual disabilities to have a genuine quality of life. The Support Professional promotes the health, safety, and well-being of individuals. Support Professionals serve as advocates for these individuals, helping them build safety, confidence and purpose one step at a time.

Employment with Connections for Adults Living Independently (CALI), as a non-profit agency, allows individuals with direct student loans to apply for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Job Functions
· Providing hands-on assistance with personal care (bathing, toileting, hygiene)
·Provides direct support to the individuals that are living within their own home in San Marcos (San Elijo Hills).
·Support individuals through their daily routines with consistency, patience, and empathy.
· Performs personal care tasks as needed, including supervision, and cueing with basic personal hygiene and grooming, meal prep, feeding, ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.
· Assists with toileting, including bedpans, urinals, and commode chairs, as necessary.
· Support with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and organizing.
· Offering behavioral support, and maintaining a positive, safe environment while modeling accountability and integrity.
· Fosters positive relationships between support professionals and individuals.
· Ensures individuals safety and maintains a safe environment.
· Reminds and assists individuals with self-administration of medications.
· Encourages self-help activities and help individuals practice real-world skills and appropriate boundaries.
· Reports changes in individual’s condition or family situation to Supported Living Services Coordinator.
· Documents services provided in electronic charting system (Therap).
· Supports individuals in home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, and bed- making.
· Assists individuals in planning meals, shopping for groceries, medical appointments, and/or running errands with individuals as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Current Available Shifts
Part Time Weekends 9:00 am - 4:30 pm & 4:30 pm - 12:00 am, with On Call availability.
Requirements
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification, proof required.
· Must have a valid California Driver’s License and automobile insurance, proof required.
· Must be able to lift and move 50+ lbs.
· Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a Live Scan background check.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary commensurate with experience. $500 Hiring bonus paid out at 90 days of employment in good standing. paid time off, sick time, and mileage reimbursement.
