Residential Care Facility for adults with developmental disabilities is actively seeking responsible, motivated, and compassionate individuals to join our team. Homes are located in San Diego, El Cajon, La Mesa, and Lakeside. We are looking to hire for afternoons, evenings, weekends, and overnights/NOC full time and part time available. No experience necessary, we will train you.

Schedule would be 8 hour shifts between 1:00pm and 10:30pm, including weekends. Overnights between 10:00pm and 9:00am.

Basic Employment Qualifications:

Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Possess a valid California Driver’s License or California Identification card, No exceptions.

Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Must pass a pre-employment physical examination, drug screen and TB test.

Must clear the Department of Justice and FBI background check (background check information; https://cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care/caregiver-background-check/background-check-process) prior to being hired. No misdemeanors or felonies, unless you have an approved exemption with CCL.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including but not limited to; walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 50 pounds or less repeatedly during a shift.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Be a role model, helping clients to achieve their fullest independence.

Become familiar with, and follow each client training and behavior plans, data collection procedures, schedules, diet plans, medical plans, etc.

“Direct care” of clients as needed, including personal hygiene, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, feeding, shopping, laundry, etc., allowing clients to do as much as possible for themselves in these areas.

Provide training to clients, using guidelines in clients’ specific plan that include emergency preparedness fire and disaster drills training, etc.

Complete necessary documentation as event occurs, including daily activity charting and behavior data tracking

Accompany clients to medical appointments and keeping appropriate documentation of appointment, treatments, recommended changes, etc.

Notify supervisor immediately of any medical conditions or injuries, major or minor, and take emergency measures in case of serious injury, the administration of first aid and CPR or calling 911.

Prepare meals for clients with their participation whenever possible.

Keep the home in good condition, including cleanliness, encouraging client participation whenever possible.

Familiarity with clients’ rights, agency policies and procedures, personnel policies and procedures, and licensing regulations that affect your performance.

Report for work according to your assigned schedule.

Complete ongoing training as required, including but not limited to: DSP year-1, DSP year-2, client rights, medication management, Pro-Act, attend monthly in-service, etc.
