The caregiver’s role:
Personal Care: Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal hygiene tasks.
Mobility Assistance: Helping client move around their home, providing support for walking, transferring from bed to wheelchair, etc.
Medication Management: Reminding clients to take their medications on time and ensuring they follow prescribed routines.
Light Housekeeping: Helping with household chores like cleaning, laundry, and organizing to maintain a clean living environment.
Companionship: Engaging with clients through conversation, playing games, or providing emotional support to combat loneliness.
Transportation: Fun or necessary outings.
Monitoring Health: Keeping track of the client’s health, including noting changes in physical or mental condition, and reporting these to family members or medical professionals.
In-home care we require strong communication, empathy, patience, and attention to detail to provide effective CPR, first aid, or have a caregiver’s license.
