We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Mandarin-speaking nanny/family assistant to join our San Diego-based family. Our household consists of a 6.5-year-old girl, a 2.5-year-old boy who is partially potty trained, and two elderly grandmothers who require some assistance. We're looking for a live-out professional who can provide excellent childcare while assisting with various household tasks and supporting our elderly family members.

Location: San Diego, CA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with few weekend days, specific hours to be discussed
Start Date: August 2024
Compensation: $20-$25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Provide attentive and nurturing care for our two children
Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including Mandarin language instruction and practice
Assist with meal preparation and feeding for the children
Support potty training efforts for our 2.5-year-old boy
Organize and participate in educational and recreational activities
Maintain a clean and safe environment for the children
Assist with light housekeeping related to childcare
Transport children to and from school, activities, and appointments as needed
Collaborate with parents to ensure consistent routines and discipline approaches
Additional Responsibilities for Elderly Grandmothers:
Assist with basic daily activities for the grandmothers, such as shopping and light housekeeping
Provide companionship and engage in activities with the grandmothers
Help with medication reminders (administration to be overseen by family members)
Accompany grandmothers to medical appointments when needed
Support intergenerational activities between the children and grandmothers
Be attentive to the grandmothers' needs and report any concerns to` family members
Qualifications:
Fluency in English and Mandarin (conversational Mandarin is okay)
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience
Experience working with or caring for elderly individuals is a plus
First Aid and CPR certification
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing situations
Passion for child development and education
Compassion and patience in working with elderly individuals
Physical ability to assist both children and elderly family members as needed
