— North County San Diego
Hiring: Christmas Lights & Window Cleaning Tech (Seasonal through Oct, full-time Nov–mid-Dec; ongoing /seasonal afterward)
What this job really requires (no exceptions)
I need someone who can work at heights all day: on roofs, at roof edges, on tall ladders, sitting/walking on roofs, up and down ladders continuously. I’ve had a dozen people swear they could do roof work and quit after Day 1 because of height fear. If you have any hesitation with heights, this job isn’t for you.
The work
Hang & remove residential holiday lights (rooflines, peaks, trees).
Residential/commercial window cleaning (ladders and roof access routine).
Outdoor, fast-paced, physical work in heat/cold, all day.
Pay & schedule
$25–$30/hr depending on speed, quality, and reliability. With room to grow.
Full-time (5-6 days/week) early November through mid-December (Saturdays included).
The rest of the year is seasonal: some busy stretches, some slow periods.
Must-haves
Zero fear of heights and proven ability to work on two-story roofs safely.
Comfortable carrying/setting 24 ft ladders repeatedly.
Reliable vehicle + valid driver’s license (jobs are all over town, mostly North County). You can car pool some of the time.
Professional, clean appearance on site.
Can pass a background check. No smoking, no drugs.
Able to follow safety rules.
Stamina for hard physical labor (climb, lift, kneel, balance) all day.
Nice to have (not required)
Experience hanging holiday lights, roofing, painting, gutter cleaning, window cleaning, or other ladder/roof trades.
Comfortable using basic hand tools.
