The Wyndham Garden San Diego is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Engineer to oversee the general aspects of the engineering department. To maintain the entire facility including physical building structures, all mechanical components electrical wiring, HVAC systems and related equipment for preventive maintenance programs. Providing the upkeep of Guest areas, and managing all on site issues that may arise. Candidate must have the capability to operate in any capacity of operations during peak season or in case of property emergencies.
Candidate must have the ability to operate major physical structures, incorporate landscaping in compliance with corporate franchise standards.
Major knowledge of plumbing, caulking, restorations, installations, drywall, painting, HVAC, flooring and many other aspects of general hotel maintenance.
Candidate will coordinate with General Manager and Supervisors to construct daily PM calls, preparing and organizing duties, that may arise.
Perform other duties regarding Guest requests, banquet and meeting set-ups.
Requirements:
Education: High School graduate or GED equivalent. Some college or trade school desired.
E-verify will be conducted upon hire.
HVAC and electrical certification (Preferred, but no required).
Must have the ability to lift up to 25lbs.
Must be in good physical health.
Must have the ability to walk or stand for extended amounts of time.
Job requires working in various weather conditions.
Experience:
Previous hotel-experience desired. A minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience is vital for this position.
Candidate must have knowledge of working with hand power tools, working maintenance equipment, painting, plumbing, and room repairs, outlet and electrical wiring.
Familiar working with spreadsheets and work orders.
Must have the ability to show initiative and is a motivating self-starter.
Communication:
Bilingual candidate a plus!
Verbal and written communication a must.
