Looking for a self-motivated, experienced Trust and Estate Planning Paralegal to assist Attorney at Solo Law Firm. This position includes legal secretarial administration of case files / case management, as well as drafting and interpreting legal documents, while maintaining positive contact with clients. The ideal candidate can complete an estate plan from start to finish, including client correspondences via email or phone, to ensure all information needed from clients have been obtained in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft Estate Planning Documents, including:
- Revocable Trusts,
- Wills,
- Durable Powers of Attorney,
- Health care directives,
- HIPAA Authorizations
- Assignments of Business Interests
- LLC formation
- Operating Agreements
- Draft, read, issue spot, and review relevant legal documets
- Prepare deeds and accompanying transfer documents
- Maintain client files and utilize paralegal experience to support attorney in case management
- Conduct research on trusts, estates, and probate laws and regulations as needed.
- Request information still missing via email or phone
- Answer any questions from client regarding their trust
- Confirm signing date with client
- Prepare summary reports for clients
- Funding trusts with client assets
- Keep track of status of work and daily updates, including correspondence, scheduled calls, deadlines, and meetings.
- Email clients PDF versions of all executed estate planning documents; and send out real estate documents to be recorded.
- Prepare final estate planning letter which includes copies of executed estate planning documents and recommendations for various
asset transfers related to trust funding strategy, including investment accounts, real estate, life insurance and retirement assets.
- Organize, scan, copy, and fax legal documents in a timely manner.
Experience Requirements: Minimum of five years’ experience working as a trust and estate planning paralegal. Must have experience in the following:
- Preparing probate estate and trust administration documentation.
- Preparing trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, deeds, and related documentation.
- Communicating with clients regarding trust and probate estate administration processes.
- Experience with WealthCounsel and Complex Trust Drafting is a plus.
Pay:
- Flat fee per client matter with additional bonus if entire plan can be completed within certain time frame.
