INK TECHNICIAN
Primary Duties
Match color and formulate inks to customer specifications
Look ahead on Print Schedule to ensure adequate ink is available to produce job
Be able to understand color matching on UV and Water Based Inks
Stage ink to the proper staging area and return ink back to inventory
Good math skills
Work off all inks to keep in inventory low
Assist press operators in changeovers as needed
Ensure ink containers are properly marked
Use computer system to guide formulations
Must be a team player
Keep accurate documentation
Keep work area clean and organized
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Understand upstream operations, downstream operations, and be able to perform essential duty within the department. Hands on knowledge of ink mixing is desired. Must take initiative, be resourceful, and willing to accept responsibility and accountability.
