Canvas Concepts, Inc. is an established 25-year-old company specializing in high-quality custom canvas products and metal frame fabrications.
The Manufacturing Assistant assists the Sewing Machine and Fabric Welding Operators to help hold and move fabric through these processes. A variety of fabrics are used including cotton canvas, acrylic, reinforced vinyl, nylon, leather, etc. The manufacturing Assistant is responsible for moving fabrics and assemblies from location to location within the plant. They may also be charged with measuring and installing brass grommets and other types of canvas hardware on fabric pieces. Measuring, Inspection, Folding and Packaging are among the assistant’s duties to participate in other steps of the manufacturing process to complete various custom designed orders. In-house instruction is provided as needed.
Requirements:
Skilled in the use of scissors, knives, fasteners, templates, and measuring tools
Physical ability to lift and handle materials weighing 40–50 lbs., as large-item orders are common
Ability to read and follow written Job Orders
Hours: M – F, Full Time – 40/hr a week available.
