The Service Writer/Advisor acts as the liaison between customers and repair technicians, ensuring accurate work orders, timely closure, and a positive company image.
Duties/Responsibilities
Answer phone calls and greet customers in the Service Department promptly and courteously.
Schedule service appointments, gathering customer and vehicle data as needed.
Prepare, maintain, and close repair orders, accurately documenting customer vehicle issues.
Review service history, inspect vehicles, and recommend additional services.
Provide complete and accurate quotes for repairs, including timelines.
Update customers on any changes to quotes or timelines, obtaining pre-approval before proceeding with work.
Explain all work and charges clearly to customers, maintaining high satisfaction standards.
Follow up on completed repairs and additional service needs.
Address customer inquiries both in-person and via phone, including follow-ups on warranty parts and scheduling.
Qualifications
Experience in Heavy Truck, Diesel, or automotive Service Writing required.
Familiarity with light, medium, and heavy diesel trucks; Mitchell Heavy-Duty Shop Management System or Fullbay experience preferred.
High school diploma or GED.
Proficient in computer and Microsoft skills for effective communication with technicians.
Strong multitasking, listening, and organizational skills for time management and workload prioritization.
2-3 years of service writing and customer service experience preferred.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift, move, or carry 50-100 pounds regularly, with frequent bending, kneeling, and standing.

Pay: $22-$27
