SAIC has an opening for a

Senior Systems Engineer Configuration Manager to provide configuration and requirements management support for the Tactical Receive Segment (TRS) 6 Maintenance and TRS 7 Baseline Releases for TRS Engine, Dashboard, and Installer applications. Responsible for configuration management (CM) and requirements management activities in support of C4ISR system development; including Tactical Receive Segment (TRS) configuration and requirements management and Extensible Common Operational Picture (XCOP) / Automated Information System (AIS) software and document configuration management (CM).The position requires onsite support at the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC), Old Town Center,

San Diego, CA.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, input/output (I/O) design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.
  • Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements.
  • Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems.
  • Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.
  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
  • Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Active Secret Security Clearance Required.
  • Ability to obtain a courier card and maintain responsibilites.
  • 8 years experience:
    • Experience in Configuration Management with Microsoft Access to include SQL querying, database design and report creation experience.
  • 5 years experience:
    • Experience creating and modifying Configuration Management Plans (CMPs)
    • Experience with Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) and IBS systems to include experience with the Tactical Receive Segment (TRS) Software Suite, Multi-Mission Advanced Terminal (MATT) and the Embedded National Tactical Radio (ENTR).
  • 3 years experience:
    • Experience with Task Project Management Software to include status updating, new task creation and report generation.
  • 2 years experience:
    • Administrator experience with the Global Engineering Management (GEM) website.
    • Experience with MANTIS Bug Tracking DB to include design and querying.
    • Administrator experience with Atlassian JIRA project management tool and Confluence, the NAVWAR Enterprise Wiki.
    • Experience in Requirement Management with formal training.
    • Experience with the Naval Systems Engineering Resource Center (NSERC) Web portal.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Must possess basic math skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors in related field and five (5) years or more experience
  • Masters and three (3) years or more experience
  • PhD and 0 years related experience
