We are seeking an experienced superintendent for tenant improvement and small scale, commercial, new construction projects. We are a small local company that specializes in residential and commercial projects in the greater San Diego area. The position requires an organized, experienced individual who can make their own schedule, communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers, and run a project without the benefit of a project manager.
Responsibilities:
Overseeing all activities on a construction site to ensure they follow the project's schedule and blueprints
Coordinating subcontractors, equipment, and materials delivery
Performing quality control and safety checks (must have good trade knowledge)
Monitoring and documenting project progress (weekly reports, photos, RFIs, email, etc)
Filing reports and permits, or ensuring that employees and subcontractors submit them on time
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards
Resolving any issues that arise during the construction process
Training and mentoring assistant superintendents/foremen
Coordinating and liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, inspectors, and regulatory authorities
Spanish speaking is preferred.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
