Organization:CPMC-California Pacific Med Center DaviesPosition Overview:$10,000 Sign-On-Bonus Integrates knowledge, theory and practice to properly execute procedures in assigned areas of the laboratory and deliver accurate results in a timelymanner. With advanced training, maintains competence in all Cytology practices, to perform pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic procedures on biological specimens to aid health care providers in the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of disease. May be responsible for specimen/material receipt, preparation, interpretation, and archival/retrieval, according to department policies and procedures. Works cooperatively with physicians, clients, and staff to facilitate superior patient care and to represent the laboratory positively by acting with courtesy, dignity, respect, and professionalism. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orient other staff to the department.Job Description :EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/universityCERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:ASCP-Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology as a Cytologist (CT)CDPH-Licensure by the California Department of Public Health as a Cytotechnologist (CLM/CTT)TYPICAL EXPERIENCE2 years recent relevant experienceSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEDemonstrated advanced knowledge and technical competence in specimen collection and preparation, laboratory operations, interpretation, and quality assurance in cytology.Ability to organize and prioritize job duties and assigned tasks for completion within expected time-frames.Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and assigned tasks. Demonstrate sound judgment and problem solving relevant to assigned duties.Ability to appropriately respond to fluctuations in volume, unexpected situations or problems such as equipment or information system failures, shift-to-shift hand-offs, priority test orders, and specimen integrity issues.Ability to follow standard practices, processes, and procedures in sequence.
