What We Need:We are looking for a high-energy leader who will be accountable for Tatcha’s end-to-end quality functions globally. Reporting directly to the SVP Supply Chain Operations, this leader will be responsible for setting the framework for quality and ensure its execution by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders from concept to counter. As the company rapidly expands globally, this role will help ensure that we bring defect free skincare products to market while delivering an exceptional end customer experience that is highly congruent with the ethos of the brand. You will work in a global organization and collaborate with an incredibly talented team in product development, creative design, global operations, marketing and our global source base. You will build on the existing QA and QC processes and frameworks, review specifications and product requirements, set up appropriate testing and collaboration protocols, manage certifications and performance, identify deviations from quality standards and continually improve on total delivered quality to the customer. Responsibilities:Each day at TATCHA is different with new challenges to tackle, but here is an idea of some of the things you will be responsible for:

Responsible for technical & quality standards and SOPs to ensure the product quality, safety, regulatory and legal requirements are met, in all areas of the Tatcha Quality Management System.

Collaborate with the management team across the company to set quality standards and continuous improvement goals.

Responsible for quality issue investigations and non-conformance management of Tatcha products and packaging including Undesirable Event reporting to Unilever Prestige Quality team as required.

Ensure adequate gating controls and testing procedures are in place to minimize financial liabilities and impacts to the company’s GTM timeline as a result of defects.

Responsible for writing, implementing, maintaining, and training teams on SOPs to support Tatcha’s Quality Management System. Deliver training as needed and create a culture of quality within the team.

Work closely with the packaging team to establish a quality standard for each product and related components. Troubleshoot and conduct detailed root cause analyses on compliance issues.

Work collaboratively with external manufacturing partners to ensure final product quality. Align on appropriate quality management systems and ensure it complies with Tatcha’s quality standard.

Develop Finished Good Specifications in partnership with Product Development, Operations, and R&D and deploy to manufacturers prior to production.

Strategic planning of QA and QC resources amongst Tatcha’s multiple country manufacturing partners.

Handle quality issues, balancing on time delivery and handle critical business projects

Responsible for overseeing quality of production deliveries (both of components and finished goods), and to ensure standardization and timely approval of quality samples

Manage and coach the team on all quality aspects; development planning and performance evaluation.

Handle risk assessment and identify safety concerns. Monitor vendor performance via detailed KPIs to assess the effectiveness of our manufacturing partners product inspection procedures.

Setup 3rd party inspection relationships as needed to proactively monitor quality and eliminate production or delivery disruptions.

Identify and remedy potential problems of the product in a preventative manner.

Perform self inspections and manage internal audits at manufacturers.

Developing traceability procedures for raw materials and finished goods, monitoring product safety and ensuring our product recall program is well tested and implemented.

Work closely with the global Customer Love team to identify and rapidly address customer concerns related to final mile delivery and unboxing experience.

Stay on top of current quality regulations in all regions where Tatcha distributes and ensure the quality processes match accordingly.

Requirements:

Science and/or Engineering degree in production, manufacturing or equivalent.

10 years’ experience in a QA and reliability function bringing physical consumer products to market is required. Beauty or skincare experience will be a plus.

Demonstrable results and experience working with a global supplier base focused on manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Experience working with direct to consumer companies is a plus.

Experience in technical package creation, sample evaluation.

Multilingual in Chinese/Mandarin or Japanese is a plus.

Excellent leadership, collaboration and communication skills is a must.

Must be able to occasionally travel to Asia.

The Details:The expected base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $190,000.
