You will perform tasks such as minor repairs and visual and functional testing on fire extinguisher systems in accordance with all national and local standards. Why is this so important? In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to entry level fire and life safety inspectors, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team.As a Fire Extinguisher Technician , you will:

Provide inspection, testing, and service for fire extinguisher equipment to comply with applicable NFPA standards as well as state and local codes. Complete required documentation including deficiency repair recommendations

Discuss noted deficiencies, remedies, and pricing with customers and follow up on corrective actions

Follow and maintain highly structured inspection schedules

Lead in scheduling inspections and collaborating with inspection coordinators

Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all inspections performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to city municipality websites

Perform minor service and deficiency repairs on all fire extinguisher system types

Complete service ticket documentation before leaving the customer site

Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and routine inspections Assist with training

Work overtime when needed

Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures

Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role

Provide hands-on training and coaching of entry-level inspectors

Maintain stock, tools, and equipment in vehicles

You will make an impact with these qualifications:Basic Qualifications: 

State of California FE Type1 License is a minimum requirement

Minimum 2 + years’ experience performing Extinguisher Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance and/or Fire Life Safety Systems for Mid Level; 5+ years for Senior Level

Possess an understanding of NFPA and building fire codes

Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level II within 12 months for Mid Level and Level III within 12 months for Senior Level

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Be able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical and electrical equipment including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop (Microsoft proficient), email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted. Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire and read and understand design and construction documents

Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations 

Preferred Qualifications: 

High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred

The pay range for this position is $55,090 - $94,440. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
