Description We are in search of an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in SAN FRANCISCO, California. In this key role, you will be tasked with managing labor relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, updating HR policies, enhancing employee morale, and conducting risk assessments. This position offers a long term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Lead and represent the organization as the first chair at the bargaining table, serving as a strategic liaison with union representatives to navigate ongoing labor discussions. Manage complex compliance issues, ensuring adherence to California labor laws, SF city and county regulations, and industry-specific legal standards. Evaluate and update HR policies to align with best practices and address emerging needs. Develop and implement engagement initiatives, conflict resolution strategies, and communication plans to rebuild trust and create a more supportive work environment. Conduct risk assessments and assist with restructuring activities to minimize legal exposure and ensure smooth transitions. Proactively address potential liabilities and manage complex compliance issues. Strengthen internal guidelines through the evaluation and update of HR policies. Navigate ongoing labor discussions, including grievances and contract negotiations. Lead the organization's representation in union negotiations. Address low morale through various initiatives and strategies. Requirements Proven experience as a Human Resources Manager, with a minimum of 7 years in the field. Proficiency in managing Benefit Functions within an organization. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrable experience ensuring Compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Experience with Union Contracts and Collective Bargaining Agreements. Familiarity with California Labor Law is mandatory. Strong ability to develop and implement Policies & Procedures in a HR context. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Professional certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is advantageous. Strong leadership skills and the ability to oversee and motivate a team. Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience making data-driven decisions. Proficiency with HR software and digital platforms. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices is preferred.
