About the organization: Compass Family Services is a 100+ year old nonprofit working on the front lines of San Francisco's homeless crisis. We provide families experiencing or at risk of homelessness with comprehensive support to address immediate needs and ensure long-term success.About the team: Compass Family Resource Center (CFRC) offers a comprehensive set of trauma-informed services that support family well-being. Homeless and at-risk families can access support services at our Drop-in Center at 37 Grove and get connected with parenting education, support groups, case management, childcare, workforce services, and Central City Access Point. Work collaboratively with the team to support family flow into the building and ensure that families are being directed to appropriate programs and staff.
Screen clients, using our Navigation Form, to determine eligibility for different internal/external programs. Provide community referrals as needed.
Connect families with essential goods (food, diapers, clothing).
Provide guidance to interns and volunteers on programming options and delivery.
Maintain and upload up-to-date and thorough client information in our Salesforce database gathered from Navigation Forms.
Maintain physical binders/record keeping of Navigation Forms and Reservation Lists for reference and quality assurance across the CFRC team.
Support Co-Program Directors with assigning data entry to the CFRC team and ensure data is being entered in a timely manner.
Develop positive relationships with families that foster connection, support, and trust.
Partner with families to develop short and long term goals related to self-sufficiency and well-being goals.
Provide ongoing case management for up to 8 clients in addition to crisis intervention and referrals to services offered both within Compass and externally.
Connect with families regularly through office visits, community appointments, and phone/email/text contact.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and promptly enter case notes, assessments, and service plans in Compass' Salesforce database.
Qualifications:
Understanding of issues facing homeless families, and trauma-informed care.
Knowledge of San Francisco social service resources.
Ability to assess and de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Salesforce experience is a plus.
Demonstrates commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging work.
Able to lift at least 25 pounds (essential for working with a team to handle diaper/food/clothing deliveries).
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range: $26 - $30 per hour
Paid time off: 4 weeks of vacation your first year, 5 in your second. Also paid holidays, sick time, family leave, time off for education.
Insurance: health, dental and vision insurance are fully covered by Compass for employees and dependent children. We also provide long term disability and life insurance.
Retirement: after one year of work, Compass contributes an amount equal to 5% of your salary into a retirement account; this vests during years 2-6.
