Mail Associate (Mail Room Clerk)

Description We are in search of a Mail Associate, located in San Francisco, California. This role is centered around the distribution and handling of mail and packages, requiring a high level of organization and attention to detail. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Distribute incoming mail and packages from various carriers like USPS, FedEx, UPS, and Parcel Post to the appropriate departments or individuals Arrange and deliver special and rush packages to designated drop areas Utilize postage equipment to sort and stamp outgoing mail in compliance with policies and regulations Prepare outgoing Certified, Registered, Insured articles, and special mailings Pick up outgoing mail from designated drop areas Accurately maintain logs and records of all incoming and outgoing mail Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information with utmost care Train new employees on relevant policies and procedures Communicate effectively with manager and client regarding any job or deadline issues Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and perform duties primarily standing up. Requirements Comprehensive knowledge of mail procedures and policies Familiarity with hiring processes and regulations Experience maintaining logs for outgoing mail Proficient in using courier services for mail distribution Ability to train new employees on mail room procedures Understanding of postage costs and USPS services Experience in delivering mail and handling parcels Understanding of confidentiality requirements for handling documents Previous experience in a mailroom environment is preferred Proficiency in time management and prioritizing tasks Ability to handle physical aspects of the role including lifting and moving packages Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Familiarity with perks of the role and ability to communicate them to potential candidates.
