Senior Software Engineer

Job Requisition ID #24WD82191Responsibilities : Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team. Analyze, design, program, debug and modify software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or internet-related computer programs. Use current programming language and technologies, write code, completes programming and perform testing and debugging of applications. Build extensible data models, provide meaningful recommendations and actionable strategies to partnering data scientists. Drive performance enhancements, development best practices and collaborate with other Data Engineering teams. Create, automate, and support reliable data pipelines. Gather customer requirements, sequence work and document technical solutions. Build, automate and scale data infrastructure. Interface with data engineers, data scientists, product managers and internal stakeholders. Cross-train and mentor teammates. Leverage expert understanding of SQL, dimensional modeling, and analytical data warehouses, like Snowflake. Design, develop, and implement scalable and reliable data pipelines and infrastructure using AWS native storage, Snowflake, Airflow, and other big data technologies. Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, data quality, and time series data analysis techniques. AWS native storage: Extensive experience with Amazon S3, Amazon EBS, and Amazon Glacier for efficient data storage and retrieval. Snowflake: Proficient knowledge of Snowflake's data warehousing features, including tables, views, warehouses, and SQL functions, for building scalable and performant data structures. Airflow: Expertise in Airflow's workflow orchestration features, including DAGs, operators, and dependencies, for automating and managing data pipelines and analytics processes. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.Minimum Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.Special Requirements : Position requires at least 5 years of experience in each of the following skills:

Utilize experience with designing and developing robust and scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions to understand data requirements, identify opportunities for data-driven insights, and translate business needs into technical solutions;

Utilize experience with architecting and optimizing data models, database schemas, and storage systems to ensure high performance and scalability;

Utilize knowledge of Python, SQL, Apache Airflow, Snowflake and ETL tools;

Utilize knowledge of Amazon S3, Amazon EBS and Amazon Glacier;

Utilize knowledge of ETL pipelines, Spark and Hadoop;

Utilize experience with managing Data Lake and Data warehouse projects.

For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $157,647 - $205,000/year. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location.
