About the RoleInsurance is one of Uber's largest operating expenses! We embarking on a multi-year roadmap to transform how it enables our business - delivering substantial cost savings as a result. Our PMO team is the beating heart of that roadmap, and is chartered with delivering a broad portfolio of both technical and operational initiatives.We are seeking a program management expert to lead our Insurance PMO and enable the delivery of strategic cross-functional projects. You will be a bridge and connector for the organization, responsible for the big picture as well as the many small details that keep the team moving forward - no task is beneath you, and you work collaboratively to help our teams move faster. Reporting to the Head of Program Management, you will support our Global Insurance Leadership Team in delivering a cross-functional portfolio of high-impact projects.What You'll Do

Strategy & Planning Expert: you will lead organizational planning processes (both tops-down and bottoms-up exercises), enabling our team to think creatively to deliver a strategic multi-year roadmap.

Portfolio Manager: you will lead a small but mighty team of Program Managers responsible for the end-to-end project management lifecycle (from ideation to delivery). In addition to people management responsibilities, you will step down and roll up your sleeves" to implement key projects that would otherwise be un-resourced.

Executive Communicator: you will think holistically about project communications and craft an operating model that ensures the right people have the right information at the right time. You will also be responsible for organizational decision-making and stage-gating processes that balance speed and rigor perfectly.

Scorekeeper: you will ensure the team is making consistent progress against the OKRs we committed to, and proactively identify and mitigate risks to unblock the team. You will design an impact measurement framework so the team can tenaciously prioritize our portfolio and ensure resources flow to where they are needed.

Transformation Lead: you will question, push, praise, prod, cajole, and otherwise irritate our organization to think differently and take action - holding teams accountable to delivering our grand ambitions.

Customer Management: you will effectively develop relationships with partners at all levels of the organization in order to bring different perspectives to the table, and build trust across the org.

Basic Qualifications

8+ years of experience in a program management role.

Highly experienced in project management principles and best practices.

Experience working as part of a leadership team and leading direct reports.

Consistent track record of empowering and influencing people across a variety of job functions (regardless of your reporting relationship).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with outstanding emotional intelligence.

Strong bias toward action (proven ability to drive end-to-end results, and think several steps ahead of the team to see around corners), with experience execution in a high-paced and dynamic work environment.

Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to balance many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items.

Prefered Qualifications

Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.

Skilled in data analytics, and is able to drive insights based on information from disparate sources.

Experience defining cross-functional OKRs, and tracking success via KPIs and input/output metrics.

Rigorous attention to detail (you are constantly looking for ways to drive continuous improvement).

Experience leading significant, multi-year business transformations (i.e. business process re-engineering initiatives which impacted people/org structures, operations, and technology).

You understand technical concepts and can translate them for non-technical audiences. In short, both engineers and business executives enjoy working closely with you.

Highly experienced with project management tools and software (e.g., Confluence/JIRA, Google Suite, Smartsheet, Asana).

Proficient with data and business intelligence tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Mixpanel, Google Data Studio).

Relevant Project and/or Program Management certifications (PMP, Agile/Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, etc.).

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$207,000 per year - USD$230,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
