Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant for our team based in San Francisco, California. This role will primarily involve accounting support for multiple residential properties within the management company. The Staff Accountant will provide a crucial second set of eyes on financial matters and will work closely with the accounting management company and CPA, particularly during audit periods. This is a contract to permanent employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Oversee and verify the accuracy of journal entries. Work collaboratively with the accounting management team and CPA to ensure all requests are handled promptly and without delays. Review financial records to identify any overlooked details or discrepancies. Facilitate special check requests, securing necessary approvals and ensuring journal entries are correctly logged in the books. Support the broader team in maintaining accurate accounting records across multiple companies. Work with the Yardi Property Management system to manage and track financial information. Collaborate with the team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end close procedures. Conduct regular bank reconciliations and manage accounts payable (AP) as needed. Utilize your general ledger knowledge to support financial operations. Follow a checklist provided by the manager to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Requirements Minimum of two years' experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) processes Experience in performing bank reconciliations Comprehensive understanding of the General Ledger Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries Demonstrated experience in Month End Close procedures Proficiency in Yardi Property Management software.
