At Google Play UX we champion the needs of makers and consumers by crafting a distribution platform that delivers joyful discovery, engagement, and inspiring innovation. We are a 100+ UX team working on Google Play and experiences for kids. Our teams offer movies, books, apps and games for your devices. We also strive to enhance our ecosystem for kids, parents, and developers of kid's content across Google's services and platforms.

The Role

As part of the Play UX team, the UX Content Ops Program Manager is responsible for operational excellence of a dynamic, growing content team. In this role, you'll combine expert knowledge of project management best practices with a passion for user content to help your team design how billions of users interact with our products. As a Program Manager, you will help facilitate all project-related timelines and communications to team members, leaders and other stakeholders. This job requires you to be an expert planner and a flexible thinker who can balance multiple objectives and teams in multiple locations.

responsibilities:

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:


  • Status reporting, milestone tracking, and communications regarding team projects and deliverables
  • Risk assessment and action planning of content tasks based on shifting priorities of cross-functional team and business needs
  • In partnership with content leadership and managers, manage planning and execution for projects including work breakdown and capacity/scope

    • BA/BS in any field or at least 4 years equivalent practical experience.
    • 3+ years experience managing content, design, or creative projects (across multiple platforms a plus).

    Additional Responsibilities:


    • Facilitate team communication and decisions for content strategists and writers.
    • Work directly with cross-functional content team members to shape team goals and quarterly objectives, including: requirements gathering, scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination of teams and approval processes.
    • Ensure that content teams deliver work that meets high standards of quality and builds trust across teams and functional areas.
    • Clearly communicate with cross-functional team leads and senior management regarding project status, resource requirements, issues, and priorities.
    • Work with PgMs cross-functionally to continual evaluate and improve processes


    Skill/Experience/Education

    Mandatory


    • BA/BS in any field or at least 4 years equivalent practical experience.
    • 3+ years experience managing content, design, or creative projects (across multiple platforms a plus).
    • Solid project management skills, including knowledge-based prioritization, scoping, resourcing, planning, time management, building/applying structure, managing ambiguity, risk identification and solution development. Working knowledge of project management software.
    • Proficient with spreadsheets or similar and Google Docs.
    • Great Communication Skills, including killer notes, info dissemination, writing, meeting/project facilitation, and reporting (team, external, managing up).
    • Knowledge of product development process.
    • Thrives when challenged with vague/undefined program/project scope and is scrappy, creative, and strategic when proposing solutions for both strategic programs and operational initiatives.
    • Effective engagement with external agencies and 3rd parties - schedule, reviews, deliverables, budget
    • A strong sense of focus and excellent attention to detail while working in a very fast-paced, changing environment.


    Desired


    • Experience operating in large scale corporate environments as well as design agencies.
